This lubrication kit ships with a grease gun and tube of grease. The grease gun includes special fittings for the LM Guides.

We offer single tubes of replacement grease. 

The MDX-540 Users Manual recommends you perform maintainence on your machine every 1000 hours. In the back of the manual it will point out the items that need to be performed. Some of these items include lubrication of the ball screws and linear guides. This is the recommend grease for performing this maintenance. You also need to look in the back of the Users Manuals for any accessories you have for maintenance of any of these additional items, they too have requirements.

Before adding actually attaching the grease gun to a fitting pump it to make sure the air is out of the line and grease has shown up at the tip. Then after you attach the grease fitting you only need to add about 1 stroke or less to the fitting. Do not over fill the bearings with grease you could possibly blow out a seal or damage a bearing, this is most important on the ATC spindle. Read the instructions carefully and follow them. 

Before greasing the ball screws make sure the ways are all really clean so you don't add grease then some chips get stuck in the grease and cause problems.When you are putting grease on to the ball screws do not run the metal tip down the ball screw. You never want any thing metallic to touch the ball screw of your machine.
